Why I’m Not Running Again

Dear friends and neighbors,

I wanted to let you know that I have decided not to run again for the Tennessee State House of Representatives for District 59 when my term concludes in November 2026.

Serving in this role since 2022 has been the greatest honor of my life, and I am forever grateful for the faith Tennesseans placed in me to represent them in our State House. I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve accomplished for Tennesseans and of the record we’ve built together.

I passed meaningful legislation advancing maternal health in Tennessee, improving public education through university-sponsored lab schools, funding affordable housing, and supporting children’s mental health. These were all promises I made during my campaign, and I’ve stayed focused on delivering real legislation that makes a real difference in the lives of Tennesseans.

I believe Tennessee is the greatest state in our country. Whether as elected officials or private citizens, we all share a responsibility to serve our communities and our state.

While I won’t be in the House of Representatives, I will continue to find ways to serve outside of elected office, as I always have. It’s important to remember that behind every elected official stands a dedicated public servant who may not receive the recognition, but carries a deep share of the responsibility.

I want to take a moment to honor my incredible wife, Lori, an exceptional mother and accomplished professional in her own right. She not only leads a successful career and gives back to our community through volunteer work, but has also been my unwavering support throughout my time in the House.

As my term comes to a close, I’m looking forward to tackling the long honey-do list, spending more time cheering from the sidelines at our kids’ games, and enjoying family adventures, especially camping and traveling with Lori and the kids.

Finally, I urge you, my friends and neighbors, to continue electing responsible, thoughtful leaders who prioritize making Tennessee a better place for all, rather than engaging in culture wars or seeking the spotlight. We deserve safe neighborhoods, strong public schools, and access to quality healthcare.

Please keep holding your elected officials to the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct, as I have strived to do throughout my time in office. Our leaders should embody the integrity and compassion that define our communities.

Stay engaged, stay informed, and never hesitate to speak up for the values we all share. I know I will.

Regards,

Caleb
